KAT - the godfathers of Thrash Metal music in Poland ? is back! The band was formed by Piotr Luczyk (guitar) in 1979. They successfully performed in Poland as an instrumental band, winning the favour of many fans. Fascination with music of Deep Purple, Led Zeppelin and Black Sabbath shaped the style of the band and after 2 years of searching for a Polish equivalent of David Coverdale, KAT finally found a vocalist. Not only music but also the spectacularity of their shows won the band their reputation, resulting in concerts as a headliner at all most important festivals in the country, such as Jarocin, Metalmania, Opole, and Rock Arena. KAT shared the stage with Metallica during their ?Master of Puppets? tour, as also with stars like Motorhead, Overkill, Death, Hanoi Rocks, Running Wild and Helloween. In December 2003, KAT supported the British legend Iron Maidem during their show in Wrocław. The performance was recorded and released on DVD. Performances along top artists finally grounded the band's status in Poland as well as abroad.

KAT is considered a cult band in Poland. Their latest effort to date is the album ?Mind Cannibals?. Today, Metal Mind Productions presents a complete discography of the band: ?1985-2005? BOX. The box includes remastered edition of all official albums released between 1985 and 2005 (9 studio and 1 live album) plus 2 live DVDs featuring material filmed at various locations in 2003 (including a fantastic appearance at the Jarocin Festival). As a special bonus, the box also includes a remastered version of the tribute album "Czarne Zastępy ? W Hołdzie KAT?, which features 15 bands paying homage to the legendary KAT. The songs are performed by such well known bands as VADER, Behemoth, Lux Occulta, Luciferion (with Snowy Show of ex-King Diamond/Mercyful Fate on backing vocals), Damnation and others! The CD contains songs recorded exclusively for the purposes of this tribute release!
